DIAKRONIKA is a peer-reviewed history education journal published by Universitas Negeri Padang. The first issue was published on 1999 (printed) and 2018 (online). Since the first publication, it has changed several times in terms of journal management and policy.

1. The first issue of Diakronika Journal was published in printed form in 1999
2. On January 1st, 2007, Diakronika Journal obtained the ISSN Print Number 1411-1764 under Decree 04.347/IV.3.05/ISSN/1999.
3. Starting from Volume 18, Issue 1, in June 2018, Diakronika Journal acquired the online ISSN number 2620-9446 under ISSN Decree Number 0005.26209446/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2018.05.
4. Diakronika Journal received accreditation "Sinta 4", as stated in Decree Number 36/E/KTP/2029 by the Director General of Strengthening Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.
5. On November 4th, 2029, Diakronika Journal became indexed by DOAJ.
6. Diakronika Journal obtained "Sinta 2" accreditation in 2020, based on Decree Number 200/M/KPT/2020 issued by the Minister of Research and Technology/Head of the national research and innovation agency
7. Diakronika Journal introduced a new published article template in Volume 20 Issue 1 year 2020
8. In December 2023, Diakronika Journal transitioned to using English for all published articles in Volume 23 Issue 2. Additionally, a new template was implemented, and a new cover design for the journal was introduced
